Crypto Wallets in Details
A crypto wallet doesn’t actually hold your coins the way a regular wallet holds cash. Instead, it stores your private keys (secret passwords) and public keys (similar to your bank account number).
- Public key/address: Share this to receive funds.
- Private key: Keep this super secret, it's what lets you spend or access your assets.
Analogy: Public key = your home address (anyone can send mail).
Private key = the house key (only you open the door).
There are software wallets (apps like MetaMask) and hardware wallets (physical devices for extra security).
Tip: Never share your private key or your seed phrase, which is a 12- to 24-word backup.
